Extended Hammer-on Dec 2, 2015: In this lesson, you'll learn a unique technique that extends a normal hammer-on to add a note in between the two notes of the hammer-on. In other words, the second note of the hammer-on is delayed until a different note in the chord is first played. The result is a sounds that works really well in a picking pattern with C shape chords.

Alive Cover Oct 7, 2015: This Hillsong Young & Free worship song is pushing the boundaries of contemporary worship music with somewhat of a euro-dance feel, electronic elements and lots of energy. This is my acoustic version of the song, which of course is a little more laid back; however, it allows just one person to play the song all the way through.

Nashville Numbers, Easy as 1, 2, 3 Sep 21, 2015: In my last article, I talked about the 5 Ways Nashville Numbers Will Change Your Life. So, if you don't even know what numbers are, start there. Otherwise, let's look at the basics of the system. Almost all music is a clever arrangement of 7 notes. Pick almost any song you can think of, and you'll hear a group of 7 notes that are used to create chords, melody lines, harmony parts, guitar solos, etc. Just 7 notes! It's pretty amazing really. This grouping is called a "key". So, you have the key of D, the key of G, etc.

This is my version of it which incorporates the signature lick. When you do this, you are able to play the song with just an acoustic. You'll also notice some fairly quick chord changes in the choruses. Some chords only last one measure.
